Journal Your Christmas - 1st Dec

Yep I've signed up for JYC and I am sooo excited so be getting involved. Managed to finish my first page on the day but behind with day 2 as I was not at home all day so off to do 2 and 3 in a sec. Anyways here is my manifesto. Have decided to go with 6x12 as it's not too small but not too big and I have chosen Kaiser Kraft Christmas Carnival papers as I think they are just gorgeous! This page however just has some noteworthy paper and pretty bits!

UKS Wicked CC

Can't belive it was almost a week ago now, but the UKS Wicked Cyber Crop was brilliant! I was a Toto and even though we only came 3rd I had a fabby time as I am sure we all did. Just thought I would share all my Los in one place, still got a few that I want to create and need to finish off the amazing Christmas Countdown by Di O, fingers crossed this weekend.

Above is my creation for the Pre-crop Challenge. Lots of flowers, fabric for the house, paint for the sky and text paper for the clouds. the tree was made with Pink paislee and 3 bugs papers.

This was my first LO of the weekend, the first challenge - We're off to see the wizard. It shows how one day I WILL visit the Grand Canyon, my dream!

This layout was for the Twister & Shout by Taniwha & PaperArts class. I was very upset that I missed getting the kit for this one but am pleased with how it turned out. Papers are Pink Paislee.

The next class was Over the Rainbow by Ifa. And what a beautiful class. think this lo is one of my faves of the weekend. Love all those ribbons!

This Lo was for the Scarecrow challenge. I handstitched all the fabric squares to the papers and the photos show some patchwork cushions I have made. The title doesn't show up so well in the photo but its fabric letters and I journalled all around the edge. I also made the fabric flower.

This Lo was for Take No Notice of the Man behind the Curtain by Shimelle. Again another one that I was upset about not getting the kit for but think I managed pretty well. Photo not very good due to poor lighting but all the papers are scrap pieces I had left over and it's very pretty and pink. Still want to add a few things to it I think, but not sure...

This was for the lion challange. Pretty simple but something I am glad to have scrapped about.

And finally this is my creation with the Mystery Kit. I don't think the photo does it justice really tho. It's a mini book. I have loads of photos of the pages inside that I will share another day, think that's probably enough for now!
Am going to be very busy this weekend again, hopefully with news to tell everyone on Monday!
Thanks for looking!

Eek, long time no blog...

Wow I was doing so well keeping up when I first started my blog and now look.. has been ages. What have I been up to... not sure really, although what with the Cyber Crop due on UKS and something that I hope I will be able to share very soon I suppose there has been a fair bit going on. oh and my girls still keeping me awake at night :( My lovely bf brought them a wheel the other day so now have that to contend with too, eek!

Anways here are a few los and stuff that I have done in the last month and not uploaded.

These 2 are from the gorgeous Crafty Stash kits, have subscribed now and can't wait to have a play with this months kit! I did manage another lo as well but not taken a photo.

And this has been waiting a long time to be finished and only a year too late! This is my holiday album from September 2008! Can't believe how tricky I found decorating the letters, but I think it was worth it, just not sure I will do another one!

Anyways thanks for looking!

My Girls!

Aren't they the cutest little things ever!

These are my 2 Degus Cinnamon and Nutmeg. I only got them 3 days ago and yet they are soooo friendly, as soon as I open the door to their cage they come straigt out to say hello! They make a right mess but I couldn't have asked for much nicer and friendly Degus than I have :)

I've even created a scrapbook page on them already!
I used the Bubbly Funk Delightful Page kit and I covered the Chipboard heart and thickers with some Pink Stickles.

I have also FINALLY managed to finish LSNED, yay! #

I now have a lovely fat mini book and can say that I have completed one of Shimelle's classes :) Just need to crack on with 'You think you know me' now!
Thanks for looking and have a good day xx

Challenges and More Layouts!

Well, I've managed to get even more layouts done over the past few days, am very impressed with myself it normally takes me ages to complete anything! Anyways have joined a lovely group of ladies in the Sizzling Hot Scrappers team on UKS and Karen set us a challenge to scrap some eyes. So here is my take on it:

Ok, so I did put a bit of a twist on it but effectively my glasses are my eyes, can't see properly without them. And I've never actually scrapped my glasses so this was a perfect opportunity. Photo isn't great, is really dingy in the house today but the papers are really pretty vibrant colours - all MME Bloom and Grow, even the flowers and the ribbon are from the same collection!

Secondly there was a weekly challenge on UKS which I can now join in with again because I am in a group. So here is mine:

The challenge was to -

Scrap something that you take for granted in your life but would miss if it wasn't there - 10 points

Use old (either unwanted/unloved or precious/saved) stash - 10 points

Include vibrant colours - 5 points

Use a circle to reflect the globe - 5 points

So I scrapped water and electricity, I used some old buttons and a photo corner, I didn't really use vibrant colours but I did include a circle - my lollipop flower. So I claim 25 points! yay!

And finally (for now!) some people have been talking about los with no pictures so I decided to have a go. Ok so I took the easier option and only used a 6x12 piece of paper but I think it fitted well. The background was created with bubble wrap and green paint and I have just layered my journalling stuck my title on (the white letters are thickers) and attached some ribbon with some green staples. I think again it is something that needs to be scrapped and I am pleased with the overall effect. Although I do think it seems to be missing something with no photo lol!

Anyways thanks for looking!

More Layouts!

Well here are a few more Los that I have managed to finish this week.

This is me in when I went on holiday at the beginning of the month with my boyfriend. Just love the cute little owls! When I saw the wrapping paper with them on I just HAD to get it! Have used some fabric for the photo mat and some MME bloom and grow paper.

And this one is now officially my FAVE recent page. I just love the colours and those Thickers are the bestest! The flowers are made with some MME bloom and grow die cuts and Collage Press Knave of hearts paper. The dotty back paper is SEI. Love stitching on my los (as you can see I did a boarder on the previous one) and on this one I decided to do 2 different patterns, the blue hearts and green swirl. Strangely I love working on white cardstock and adding patterned papers to it, think I tend to like those los more than the ones with coloured backgrounds!

And finally also managed to finish my Christmas Recipe cards for the swap on UKS:

Applesauce Cranberry Muffins, yummy! Just hope that the other people in my group like them! Had such fun making the lollipop flowers (courtesy of Covertry Ann and her great tutorial (http://coventryann.blogspot.com/2009/09/lollipop-flowers-tutorial.html)

Anyways thanks so much for looking!

Layouts!

Has been a while since I actually got down to normal scrapping and managed more than 1/2 a layout in a day but this weekend just gone I actually managed 2 and 2 1/2 layouts! lol. So here are the 2 completed ones.

Would love to say that this one was all my own idea but I actually took the design for the amazingly talented Celine Navarro (http://thegreenfrogstudio.typepad.com/) You should sooooo go and check her stuff out, it's amazing!

And this Lo I just HAD to do. As soon as I saw the colour of the ice-cream my bf had on our holiday I knew it would make a great lo!

Anywyas got to get ready for work :( Thanks for looking :)

More LSNED

My next lot of LSNED pages, getting there slowly!
(sorry about the quality of my photos, my camera seems great at taking pics of people but not so much anything else!)

Am not usually very keen on pages with no pictures but I actually think that my fave pages are the last 2! Although the penguins pic is very cute!!

Thanks for looking!

LSNED Catch up!

Oh dear I am finally behind with LSNED :( Was trying so hard to keep up but am about 5 days behind now, anyways here are all my other pages following on from the first 2 that I've posted.

Well don't want to bore everyone with too many of my lessons so will add a few more tomorrow!

In the meantime I have also been making some cards... very unlike me... I am so not a card maker but my Dad owns his own Motorbike shop and asked me if I would be able to make some Motorbike themed cards that he can sell to go with his gift vouchers, so this is what I came up with:

What do you think? I know they are fairly simple but I wanted them suitable for most occasions. I am happy with the outcome, just hope my dad and his customers are!!
Thanks for looking, Hugs xxx

Back from Holiday and a new craft space :)

The last week just went far too quick... Had too much of a lovely time away with my boyfriend that I just didn't want to come back. Being by the seaside with such beautiful weather why would you want to leave? But unfortunately we had to, so now I am back at home with work to look forward to tomorrow, wishing I was back here:

Oh well... one consolation I have about being home is that while I was away my amazingly wonderful parents created a work space for crafting in my bedroom for me. I now have my very own space :)

Ok, it's nowhere near as good as some people's but it's just nice to have my own space and not have to steal the dining room table whenever I can!! Although I think that my parents actually had a ulterior motive because they wanted their dining room/conservatory back which is where I have had all my stash stored up till now!! Well just a few more things to bring up and sort out then I need to catch up with LSNED!!
