UKS Swap

I have taken part in a swap on UKS to create a Christmas Wall Hanging. It's not something that I would normally do and I can't wait to see all the finished sqaures together. So here are all of my 12 squares together.

I started off my painting the edges of the chipboard pieces (they each measure 3"x3") then I cut some leftover Christmas papers slightly smaller. I cut some acetate squares a bit smaller again and stamped using acrylic paints onto it with a snowflake stamp. I used a flourish Inchie stamp for the middle and then sewed the acetate over the top. Finally I punched some snowflakes out of some silver card and printed the words from my computer, inked the edges and applied some gems. I really enjoyed doing them and while they are not what I originally planned I am very pleased with them, just hope that everyone else likes them too when they are received!
I also thought I would share a non Christmassy Card I made a while ago. I am not a huge card maker but I thought this was quite pretty!

I just love butterflies and pom pom ribbon at the moment!!

Thanks for looking!

Some Layouts!

I've been neglecting my blog for ages now and I think it is time to put a stop to that! I will hopefully be able to share some pages from my Christmas Journal in December but for now I thought I would share some layouts that I have done over the last 2 months that never found their way here!

I created this layout for mine and my boyfriends 3 year anniversary! i have become obcessed with butterflies on my layouts lately as you will see and made the 4 flower embellishments myself (similar ones are available to buy on Which crafts? here!)

This layout was made using the gorgeous MME Lost and Found papers which are also available to buy at Which Crafts?! I fell in love with these papers so I had to use them on a layout for me!

I am in a group on UKScrappers Called the Scrap Apples (hi ladies!) and we had a weekly challenge in October. We did 3 different challanges that you could choose from and this is my example for one of them, which uncluded journaling about what you would do if you had the extra hour when the clocks went back instead of sleeping! I used lots of different papers scraps for this but most was American Crafts and Pink Paislee.

This layout was my example for one of our other challenges, it was based on a sketch by fellow Scrap Apple Mim who got the inspiration from a Picasso Picture, which was the main focue of the challenge. Wasn't I cute!!

Thanks for looking, I have a few more bits to share hopefully later in the week :)

Lean Something New Every Day

Can't believe it is September already! Where oh where did August go?!

I'm taking part in LSNED again this year. Hoping I can complete it again as well.

Made my mini book yesterday and am really pleased with how it turned out.

I created it with the left over yummy fabric from the Cherries & Strawberries Embellish Kit I made for Which Crafts? I just think it is soooo pretty! Was only my second time using my sewing machine though so took me quite a while to get it right and my seams are not perfectly straight as you can guess from my stitching through my title! I sandwiched some chipboard between 2 pieces of the fabric for the front and back.
It's only a very small book, it measures just 5 1/2" x 3" and I'm using tags as my pages.
I also stitched some fabric to the ends of some of those too, but I am not doing that to all of them! Will take me too long lol!

Have decided my first lesson is - 'I need A LOT more practice using my sewing machine... but I did manage to create this!'

Will share the page when it's complete hopefully by tomorrow :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Art Journaling...

I have been wanting to start Art Journaling for quite a while now and I have finally plunged in and completed my first page. I don't have many of the paints and stuff at the moment but still having a play anyways! I am not sure if I am happy with it or not...

Would love to know what you think... and any tips and ideas on what products are good to use and collage sheets you could recommend would be much appreciated.

Apologies for the curled edges and not the best picture, the light is always terrible in my room :(
I have since brought myself a spiral bound book to use as my journal, whereas this one is just on a thin piece of card, hence the curled edges. I am in despirate need of some Gesso and mist sprays now I think!
Thanks for looking,

Bits and Bobs

Been slacking again :o(
Oh well, here are some creations I have made recently, Hoping to do some crafting soon that isn't something for the shop.

I have fallen in love with the American Crafts Dear Lizzy range and that is what the kit I used to create these mainly contained. The Kit - Summer Dreams from Which Crafts? is full of pretty and summer colours. I LOVE it! Still hven't really filled the journal up but am hoping to soon.

The cards above were all created with the Inkadinkado Inchie Stamps (available from Which Crafts?). I am not a big card maker but I really enjoyed making these. Just a little bit of Distress Inks and some gems were also added. They are so quick and easy but I think they look quite effective too.

Finally here is an altered Clipboard of which the kit is also available in the shop.

Well that's it for me at the moment, you can pop on over to the Which Crafts? Blog if you want to see more creations by me and the design team for Which Crafts?

The next thing I want to have a play with is this new kit - sooooo pretty :) Although I love all the Embellish Kits, almost want to keep them all to myself!!

Oh and then there is the Elle's Studio FREE Journaling class coming up soon too, and Which Crafts? is sponsoring :) See more details on the WHC Blog!

Layouts and sewing!

Wow it has been sooo long since I last posted. Have been mostly updating the shop blog and ignoring my own. But thought it about time to start getting more up to date here too!

Firstly here are some layouts that I don't think I've shared before! The middle one I did using a Crafty Stash Kit and the last one for a challenge on UKScrappers quite a while ago!

These 2 I made for the shop blog. The Black, Red & White layout used this kit from the Which Crafts? shop and some red scraps and Elle's Studio Journalling Tags. The second one being part of the All One Colour Challenge for the Blog Party. Pop on over and join in, we would love to see what you come up with and there is a chance to winning a free kit!

And lastly I have had a play with my new sewing machine! I have wanted one for ages and I will hopefully be having a play with it on some layouts soon but I decided to make a bag. And for my first attempt I am very pleased! If you fancy a go yourself there is a lovely tutorial here and you will prob do a better job than me!

I'd love to see any sewing that anybody else has done and any helpful tutorials or tips on using a sewing machine for crafts if you know of any.

Thanks for popping by!

Haven't had much time for crafting or scrapping much these past few months but have finally been able to get a few layouts and bits done! Firstly here are 2 Los I created for the UKS Cyber Crop. Sadly I was working all day Saturday and spent Sunday with my bf so didn't rally get to participate as much as I would have liked :( But I managed the first class and a lo for the Mystery kit.

Think I am prob going to add a few extra bits to this one but i couldn't at the time as it was the mystery Kit.

And I have been having a play at Altering a Frame for Which Crafts?
A tutorial is on the Which Crafts Blog and a mini kit is available to buy here :)

Do let me know what you think of it, is my first time designing something like this!!

Soooooo long!

Has been sooo long since I've posted anything, oh dear! To be honest I haven't really done any crafting for ages, well since my last posts really. I have been working on my shop (Which Crafts?) and have recently started a second (or third if you include the shop!) part time job as well! Thought I would share some old layouts and a mini book I made using some beautiful papers I brought in for the shop!

The kits containing these papers are available here if u like!! I will be filling this as soon as I get time with pics of me and my boyfriend on our trip away last month.

Oh and this layout was created using the January Kit from Which Crafts? 1 still availble on sale here!

This Paper Bag mini book was made quite a while ago now! But have never shared it on here. I have been thinking of making another one with the Celebration page kit from the shop... but doubt I will ever get time lol!

These papers are Junkitz Salsa Celebration and are my absolute fave papers ever! The pics are of me and my birthday cakes made by my wonderful mum and nan over the years lol!

Hope I will get some more crafting done soon, thanks for looking! x

52 in 10 and Digi!

Very long time no blog! Unsuprisingly I didn't get much further with my JYC, still hoping to be able to catch up with at least some pages some time but not sure when. However I have started a new project on Scrapdolly's (Karen) blog - 52 in 10

Again unsuprisingly I am behind by a week but am pleased with the 2 that I have done. The 3rd prompt is def going to take some thinging about!

This first layout is a hybrid, mostly done on the computer but I added some buttons, ribbon, pearls and a heading after it was printed. I decided to do it as a double layout so that I could include a pic of me from each year 2000 - 2010.

The second LO is again a hybrid however all the papers were printed from the computer and then layered up with some ribbons and flowers. I stitched the edges of the blue paper to create a pocket and each of the tags is for a seperate goal - Time, Fitness and Joy.

I have also been having a play with some just Digi layouts, am quite pleased for my first attempt but feel they are missing something.
